Our Story
Hello, I’m Anu — an artist, a self-taught soap maker, and an Ayurveda medical student. I come from a traditional Ayurveda family, carrying the ancient knowledge and practices passed down from my grandfather to my parents.
Swasti Ayurveda was inspired by my father’s deep belief in traditional Ayurveda. I follow in his footsteps, emphasizing the wisdom he entrusted to me. The name “Swasti” signifies fortune, luck, and auspiciousness — a word my father used to write before anything important. The three lotus flowers in our logo represent purity, divinity, and beauty — a symbol of life and ever-renewing youth.
Swasti Ayurveda is a daughter company of Wanamandawe Ayurveda, a renowned Sri Lankan Ayurveda product manufacturer founded in the 1960s.
How Swasti Began
The first wave of COVID-19 in January 2020 brought Sri Lanka to lockdown. This unexpected pause allowed me to connect with myself, my family, and nature. I finally had the space to heal emotional wounds I hadn’t acknowledged before and awaken my true creative self-expression. It was a year of healing, gratitude, and growth.
I had no plans of starting a business at first. I didn’t even know how to make cold-process soap — I had tried a few times in 2019 with my brother, but we failed (successfully!). In April 2020, I experimented with leftover glycerin soap bases and herbal powders I found at home. While these initial attempts were beautiful, they weren’t enough.
As a habit, I loved watching professional soap makers like Katie Carson, Anne Marie, and Elly on YouTube. I studied, read, watched countless tutorials, and finally learned to create proper cold-process recipes. After many trials, patience, and immense love and support from my family, I mastered soap making.
From there, I went further — combining my creativity and Ayurveda remedies to craft luxurious, artisanal, natural, and organic soaps full of value, beauty, and love that my clients deserve.
Today, Swasti Ayurveda continues to grow, and this journey has been one of the greatest adventures of my life. I owe so much to my loving mum, brother, and best friends, whose unwavering support has made Swasti possible. #Blessed
Our Beauty Philosophy
At Swasti Ayurveda, we aim to share Nature’s miracles. Ayurveda, the Science of Life, is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing methods. It teaches that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between mind, body, and spirit.
I believe that kindness, compassion, and authenticity nourish the mind and empower the spirit. A happy, healthy soul radiates outward, unveiling a natural glow that comes from within.
Through Swasti, I encourage people to embrace their true selves, free from society’s beauty standards. Love your skin and your natural shades — feel comfortable and beautiful in your own divine skin. Celebrate your uniqueness and power, and let it fuel your confidence.
I also deeply believe in our connection to nature — the trees, flowers, rivers — we are all part of the same symphony. That’s why Swasti Ayurveda is committed to crafting natural, environmentally friendly, and sustainable products that repair, rejuvenate, and replenish from the outside in.
Most of our herbs and plants come from my own garden — a lush herbal jungle, another legacy from my father. We also support local small businesses, sourcing materials and supplies from our community whenever possible.
Our Promise
Every Swasti product is made with love, care, and intention — to nourish your body, elevate your spirit, and connect you to nature’s magic.
This is our story, and we are honored to share it with you
